Measuring between timber posts, walls or brickwork. All sizes refer to actual openings and NOT the gate, fence or rail width; we have already allowed for hinges etc.
Fittings.Unless other wise stated all gates, fence and railings are supplied with a pack of screw-on/bolt-on fittings to fix to existing timber or brickwork.
Steel posts.Due to the weight of the gates, care must be taken to ensure that the brickwork is strong enough to support them; steel posts which are concreted into the ground are recommended on all large gates. Should you wish to hang gates on steel posts be sure to allow for the posts widths e.g. a 2438mm (8’-0”) opening pair of gates and two 70mm (3”) posts will fill a 2578mm (8’-6”) gap.
Special non standard sizes. A made to measure service is available for majority of the gates, railing and fence designs. Contact us with your details on our helpline, fax or email for a quotation.
Finishing. Unless other wise stated all gates andrailings are primed in black and after fitting a further coat of good quality gloss paint is required.

How To Order Wooden Gates
Please note fittings to hang your gates need ordering separately
When ordering wooden gates the widths stated are the actual size of the gate or gates. For instance a 750mm gate will measure 750mm, there may be slight variances due to the natural nature of wood which can be affected by temperature and humidity. Care must be taken to ensure allowances have been made for fittings, and in the case of doubles a gap down the middle.
If posts are to be used allowances for the appropriate post size should also be taken into account for your total opening size to be filled. Gates should be protected upon completion with staining or a suitable wood treatment to preserve your gates in good condition.
All heights are actual gate heights and ground clearance should be allowed for when considering finished heights
